Christ Community Church, located on three
campuses in Blackberry Creek, Dekalb, and in St. Charles, chose to partake in their “Great Day of Serving” at
the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry on Saturday, June 13. To date, Christ Community Church has held
six annual day of serving in their communities. This year, Christ Community Church had over 1,500 parishioners
involved in over 50 projects.

For their service at the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, Christ Community Church became involved in many aspects
of volunteering. Before coming into the Pantry, a food drive was held at Christ Community to collect as
much food as possible for the individuals in need in the Aurora area. After their hard work collecting
all the food donations, volunteers from Christ Community Church then came into the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry on Saturday,
June 13 to deliver, sort and place the food into storage. The women of the parish consolidated the food
supplies and helped prepare packaged bags for distribution. The men of Christ Community Church went to
the warehouse to help with storage and to bring back additional food to the Pantry for that week’s distribution.

The Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry
would like to thank Christ Community Church for all of their hard work in both organizing the food drive and spending a Saturday
organizing food and preparing for upcoming distribution days. The Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry can
now use the donations and services from Christ Community Church to better serve the individuals in need throughout the local
communities.
