Giving Tuesday

There’s Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and now…Giving Tuesday. We are proud to be a part of this national movement to kick off the giving season. Check back for updates on how you can help make Giving Tuesday 2019 the best year ever!

It’s easy to get involved on December 3:

  1. Donate via our #ILGIVE site. Your donation will be put right to work providing food for families in our community.
  2. Help us get the word out. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and share our #GivingTuesday posts with your friends and family.
  3. Give back by volunteering. It takes nearly 120 volunteers each week to serve the 1,000 families that visit the pantry. Visit our volunteering page to learn how you can get involved.

Thank you for your generosity!

Matching Pallet Radiothon

Donate Now

Mark your calendars for Friday June 29 and our 13 hour Matching Pallet Radiothon on 95.9 The River. Donations support Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry and Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry.

Keeping kids fed during the summer can be difficult. In our service area, nearly 40% of children are eligible for free/reduced price lunch at school. During the summer, these meals disappear and kids are in danger of hunger and malnutrition. But your donation can help ensure that every child in our community has access to fresh, healthy food all summer long.

And don’t forget — every donation made to Matching Pallet will be matched (up to $25,000) by our generous sponsors.

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Join the National Association of Letter Carriers (including our Local #219) for their national food drive. Celebrating its 26th anniversary, postal customers are encouraged to leave a bag of non-perishables near their mailbox on Saturday May 12. Their letter carrier will collect the items, which will then be distributed to local food pantries.

Welcome to Our New Website

We are very excited to welcome you to the new website for Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry. This re-design was made possible through a grant provided by the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley. There’s a lot to see on the new site, designed by Weblinx, but we wanted to point out a few of our favorite features:

We hope you take a few minutes to check out everything the new site has to offer. Contact us with any feedback – we’d love to hear from you!

Spring Appeal Meets the Match

We’re very excited to announce that thanks to YOU we have met our spring appeal match! The Lakone Company and Karen Leonard had generously donated $22,630 in matching funds and our donors responded and met the match. This will provide over $315,000 worth of food for hungry families in our community. Thank you!

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Breaks Records

We are so grateful to everyone in Aurora who contributed to the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on May 13. Aurora Food Pantry received over 84,000 lbs. of food which is an all-time record! A big thank you to all the donors, the volunteers who helped sort the food, and the amazing letter carriers – in particular Aurora Letter Carriers NALC #219 – for all their hard work.

Teacher’s Cereal Drive Increases Donations by 500%

Every year, the Aurora Education Association-West hosts a cereal drive to benefit the pantry. This year, they decided to transition to a Food + Fund drive, allowing participants to donate boxes of cereal or make donations online. The results were staggering: 382 boxes of cereal were collected along with $1,544 in donations. Those donations will allow us to get 7,720 more boxes of cereal, for a grand total of 8,102 boxes. (That’s a 500% increase from last year’s cereal drive!) Cereal is one of our most popular items at the pantry – we can go through 1,600 boxes a week – so this cereal drive will have a massive and immediate impact. Thank you, AEA-W!
