Mark your calendars for Friday June 29 and our 13 hour Matching Pallet Radiothon on 95.9 The River. Donations support Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry and Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry.

Keeping kids fed during the summer can be difficult. In our service area, nearly 40% of children are eligible for free/reduced price lunch at school. During the summer, these meals disappear and kids are in danger of hunger and malnutrition. But your donation can help ensure that every child in our community has access to fresh, healthy food all summer long.

And don’t forget — every donation made to Matching Pallet will be matched (up to $25,000) by our generous sponsors.

Join the National Association of Letter Carriers (including our Local #219) for their national food drive. Celebrating its 26th anniversary, postal customers are encouraged to leave a bag of non-perishables near their mailbox on Saturday May 12. Their letter carrier will collect the items, which will then be distributed to local food pantries.

For the last 25 years, the Souper Bowl of Caring has shown Americans that while we are getting ready to enjoy the Super Bowl, we can help folks who don’t even have a bowl of soup to eat.

Each year, our area food pantries experience a significant reduction in donations after the holidays.  That means that families who are struggling to avoid hunger and homelessness have a more difficult time after the new year.

So on Saturday, February 4, 2017, student volunteers from across the country are coming together once again to fight hunger and poverty in their communities.

In cooperation with Jewel-Osco and Prisco’s Family Market, Fox Valley United Way will be working with youth volunteers to help fill the shelves at the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry and the Kendall County Community Food Pantry.  At our 7 locations we will be accepting monetary and food donations around Aurora and in Kendall County.  One hundred percent of all contributions go directly to the food pantries!
