Veterans Day Pantry

Hunger can affect anyone, including our nation’s veterans.  In 2019, nearly 3 million veterans and their families didn’t have enough to eat each month. According to the National Veterans Foundation, over 1.5 million vets are considered at risk for homelessness stemming from substandard housing, poverty, and lack of help from family or social support networks.  These numbers are only climbing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is why the Aurora Food Pantry hosts a special food distribution every year with the hope of raising awareness of the Pantry among veterans, so they know where to go if they or a fellow veteran needs food assistance.

Upcoming Date: November 11, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

SERVING THOSE

WHO HAVE SERVED

Thanks to our community partnerships, every $1 you donate will provide $7 worth of food.  This means a $30 donation today, can feed a veteran for a month.

With the colder weather approaching, we are in need of volunteers on Veterans Day and beyond.  If you have few hours to spare, please consider donating your time.

If you would like to help the Pantry while remaining off-site, you can host a Food & Fund.  Empower your friends, neighbors, coworkers and schools to donate non-perishable goods and/or funds.
