Job Title: Mobile Meals Coordinator
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Five days/week; MUST be available evenings and weekends
Pay: Starting at $20/hr.

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, community-minded team member to support our food access programs. This role is primarily responsible for driving and operating our food truck to serve families and individuals in need throughout the community.

The ideal candidate has strong food safety knowledge, food procurement or food service experience, enjoys working directly with the community, and is comfortable driving and handling food in a variety of settings. This individual should be a self-starter with strong organizational skills and must have a clean driving record. Experience with reporting and record-keeping is also highly desirable due to grant and program reporting requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate catering schedules and pickup logistics with vendors and partners
• Pick up catered and prepared food from designated vendors or partners
• Safely drive and operate the organization’s food truck
• Set up and serve food to neighbors at scheduled distribution sites
• Ensure proper food handling, temperature control, and sanitation at all times
• Maintain the cleanliness of the food truck before, during, and after service
• Track and document meal counts, distribution data, and other program metrics for reporting purposes

• Order supplies and food as needed
• Assist in the warehouse and/or marketplace as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior staff

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience with food handling and food service
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to safely drive a food truck or large vehicle (training provided if needed)
  • Ability to lift and carry food items (up to 30 lbs)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage scheduling and logistics
  • Experience with reporting, record-keeping, or data tracking

Preferred Qualifications

• Food procurement or purchasing experience strongly encouraged
  • Experience working in community food programs or nonprofits
  • Experience with mobile food service or food trucks
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
  • Forklift certification and/or experience

Work Environment

• Combination of driving, outdoor service, warehouse, and community-based work
  • Regular interaction with families, partners, and volunteers
  • Candidate must be able to stand, walk, and carry for extended periods of time
• Includes evenings and weekends as needed
